About The Salvation Army Elim House Domestic Violence Shelter


Elim House is an environment where women and children fleeing domestic abuse and violence may regroup, renew, and rejuvenate. Offering emergency shelter and other support services, we create a restorative and empowering environment in which women and children can reclaim their sense of personal power and continue their journey toward healing. Elim House offers encompassing support services to women and children fleeing domestic violence: • Emergency Shelter (up to 120 days) o 60 bed capacity/ 12 individual rooms for families o Independent living space • Meals/Material Assistance o Food, clothing, transportation assistance • Individual and Group Counseling (for adults and children) o Master’s level counseling support available • Case Management o Individualized case planning • Community Outreach o Client after-care and community education • Community Referrals o Including mental health, substance abuse, housing, day care, employment, and more • Housing Services o Assistance applying for permanent housing • Legal Assistance & Victim Advocacy o Including legal clinics, education, referrals, court accompaniment and advocacy • Mission: Literacy o Provides instruction that improves children’s reading skills • Spiritual Support o On-campus church/chapel services available • Recreational Activities o Including arts & crafts, field trips, games, and groups • GED Preparation o Individualized GED tutoring and test preparation • Relocation Services o Airline flights for families who need a safer place • Day Care Services o Drop-in day care
