Battered Mother's Custody Conference 2016

Organizers of the Battered Mothers Custody Conference announced last week that its 12th annual gathering will be held May 6-8, 2016, in Albany, NY.

The conference is open to anyone and addresses the legal injustices encountered by survivors of domestic violence who approach the family court system seeking protection for themselves and their children from an abusive spouse or partner.

The conference brings together the nation’s top experts on intimate partner abuse, child abuse, and child custody litigation and protective issues, who each volunteer their time to educate the public and to support, consult, and network with battered mothers who attend the conference.

There will be more than 20 workshops led by protective mothers’ leaders, legal experts, and DV professionals and speakers including Lundy Bancroft, author of Why Does He Do That, The Batterer as Parent, and other books, articles, and presentations on battering dynamics, Phyllis Chesler author of Mothers on Trial, Nancy Erickson, attorney, law professor and author, Barry Goldstein, author of four books on battering and custody, Keith Harmon Snow, author of Worst Interests of the Child, Toby Kleinman, child custody expert and many others.
